Samsung announced yesterday that they've teamed up with Charter Communications (CHTR) for 5G testing in field trials around the U.S.
"As a pioneer in small cell networks technologies, Samsung is excited to partner with Charter as they evaluate their next generation 5G and 4G wireless network technologies." the statement reads, "These projects with communication leaders such as Charter, will continue to lay the foundation for future business models and customer applications that tap the full potential of both 4G LTE and 5G."
The tests, which actually began over the summer, are being conducted on 28 GHz and 3.5GHz for 5G and 4G LTE respectively. The FCC had opened up 11 different GHz of spectrum for wireless broadband testing last year that other companies like Apple have been operating tests on as well, moving us one step closer to a 5G network system.
