Apple (AAPL) is fighting a recent series of lawsuits against them for their Siri beta’s performance. Claims that the feature does not perform as advertised are being backed up by tests mimicking commercials and other advertisements.
Apple responded in their motion to dismiss that the software is advertised as a beta, and that the complaints are incomplete and highly individualized, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Another complaint is that Apple is “brainwashing” Siri. Previously, when asked what the best smartphone is, Siri would respond with a search for the highest rated one, which was the Nokia (NOK) Lumia 900. If asked after a recent software update, Siri will provide responses like, “The one in your hand” or “You’re kidding, right?”
An additional lawsuit on one of Apple’s questionable moves is an eBook antitrust suit, alleging that Apple and publishing executives conspired to raise eBook prices. They moved to dismiss the case, but their motion was denied.
