Americans are realizing they will have to wait until they are much older to retire than they would prefer. While this may take some time to come to grips with, there are a number of financial benefits to working later in life.
First, there is the obvious increase in income and savings that comes with working a few extra years. Secondly, the longer one waits to begin collecting on their social security benefits, the more of a premium those benefits will pay out on a weekly.
